Patriots Training Camp Day 6: WR’s Are Dropping Like Flies

The dog days of the 2017 Patriots summer camp has arrived as everyone seems to just be grinding it out. The small injuries just seem to be piling up as the offense especially the wide receivers are starting to feel it.

Danny Amendola had more action today but he still is not fully participating. At this point, I would call him limited as he is doing more than he has the past couple of days. Julian Edelman after being ejected from practice yesterday seemed to get shaken up late in the practice when he was very slow walking. He kept shaking his right foot meaning it could be an ankle injury.

Running back Mike Gillislee also didn’t participate today. He did arrive at camp with a hamstring injury that he has seemed not to have recovered from yet.

In good news Duron Harmon did return to practice today he did not participate but it was good to see him back out on the field and doing special drills with the training staff. Mike Gillislee, James O’Shaughnessy, Malcolm Mitchell, and David Jones also did not participate in today’s practice.

Chris Hogan also finished practice with ice on his knee as he did not make it all the way through the practice. But his injury doesn’t appear to be anything serious and should be fine for tomorrow.

Patriots are very shallow at Wide Receiver with Hogan, Slater, Mitchell, and Amendola hurt, they are now down to just Edelman, Cooks, Washington, Maye, Lucien, Carr.

Tom Brays who’s 40th birthday is tomorrow went 13 of 22 with his last pass being an interception by Jonathan Jones in the end zone the pass was intended to Edelman. You can’t be mad about that interception as it really was the play of the day Eldeman and Jones battled all the way to the end zone before he made a great play intercepting the 39-yard pass.

Jimmy Garoppolo had another rough day but went 10 of 13 and Brissett was 5 of 8.

The Patriots are back at it tomorrow for day 7 of camp at 9:15 am.
