After a light practice, yesterday the intensity was picked up again as the Patriots had an intersquad scrimmage instead of a normal stationed practice.  When the final whistle was blown, Team Brady/ Brissett would be victories defeating Team Garoppolo 20-12.

Tom Brady during the scrimmage went 10-12 with a touchdown well Brissett went 4-7 with a touchdown and 2 fumbles. Jimmy Garoppolo finished the scrimmage going 14-36. Garoppolo did not look to good playing with the second string as he over threw a lot of receivers to the point where they had no chance of catching the ball.

The first string with Brady and Brissett was also missing a lot of key components as Edelman, Hogan and Amendola were all there but did not participate in the scrimmage. Well, Offensive tackle Nate Solder, special teamer Matthew Slater and wide receiver Cody Hollister were absent from Friday’s session.

A big story coming out of today practice was the injury of Joe Thuney who left practice early with a trainer. This is something we will have to watch closely as if this is serious they would be a major loss for our offensive line.

After the practice, we heard from Tom Brady for the first time since the day after Super Bowl LI. The opening question was about him turning forty “I feel the same as I did yesterday and the day before that.”

Brady was also hit with a question about his wife saying that he has had concussions in the past. Brady did not want to be talking about that saying “I don’t want to get into things that happened in my past… I don’t think that’s anyone’s business”

Brady was also asked about a potential retirement date and he would not directly answer but said he wants to play until at least his mid-40s if not longer.

It was a good practice for the Patriots today as their first pre-season game is just under a week away. They will be back in practice tomorrow at 9:15 am.
