Kyle Busch Gets Another Sweep At Bristol

Erik Jones was on the pole for the Saturday Night race at Bristol as Kyle Busch was going for another sweep of the races.

The early part of the first segment saw Chase Elliott and Erik Jones trading the race lead as Brad Keslowksi blows a tire and does not bring out the caution.  As the green flag racing continued Erik was leading a bunch of the early laps as Kyle Larson got hot and took the race lead at lap 52.  We finally do get the caution at lap 61 for Aric Almirola and his blown tire.  The caution brought in the leaders with Kyle Larson keeping the race lead.  The race continued as one long green flag run .  Kyle Larson was leading lap after lap as Kyle Busch was moving his way up through the field and was able to get the lead late,  but had a very tough fight with Kyle Busch to even keep it.  Kyle Busch in the end took the stage one win.  The cars pit and Erik Jones won the race off pit road.

The second stage saw Erik Jones leading lap after lap as Kyle Busch was moving his way back up to the lead and took the lead back at lap 168.  Kyle Busch did not have it for many laps though and Erik Jones was back in the race lead at lap 179.  Erik could not keep for long and at lap 198 it was Kyle Busch in the race lead.  A few laps later and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. smacks the wall to bring out the caution.  The caution brought down the leaders and Kyle Busch kept the lead of the race.  As the race restarted Martin Truex Jr. had to pit for a loose wheel and wound up with a tire violation.   Around lap 220 it was major smoke time for A.J. Allmendinger who was able to make it back to pit road and not bring out the caution.  At lap 232 though the caution does comes out as Austin Dillion snaps spins out and wrecks into Jeffery Earnhardt.  The caution brings in Kyle Busch and some cars on the lead lap as Matt Kenseth and other cars stay out.  We get a short green flag run to finish off the second stage with Matt Kenseth leading laps and taking the second stage win.  As cars that did not pit under the last caution do Erik Jones is now back in the race lead.

The third stage was one long green flag run to start with Erik Jones leading lap after lap. Around lap 325 it was car problems for Aric Almirola who needed multiple laps in order for him to make it onto pit road.   At lap 354 we finally get the next caution as Ty Dillion smacked the wall.  Cars pit and Erik Jones wins the race off pit road.

As the race continued Kyle Busch was able to get the race lead.  At lap 396 it was caution time as Chase Elliott spins out to bring out the caution.  We get a short green flag run this time and 84 lap left Landon Cassill wrecks to bring out the caution.  As the race continued Erik Jones got to lead more laps as Kyle Busch got hot and took the race lead with 55 laps.  As the laps quickly went down Erik was stuck in second.  As the race close to finishing Kyle Busch even took it three wide to keep the race lead.  Then Kyle Busch finished off the race with the win and the sweep at Bristol.  He last did the sweep in 2010.

Kyle Busch stated the M&M’S Camery was awesome tonight.

“We had a good car in short runs,” said Matt Kenseth.

Denny Hamlin stated that he did not have the tack position when he needed it.
