Sacramento Kings rookie De’Aaron Fox has a partial tear in his right quadriceps muscle and will be out for at least two weeks, the team announced.
An MRI exam revealed the tear Friday, and the Kings said Fox will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Fox suffered a bruised right thigh last week against the Minnesota Timberwolves and missed his first game of the season Sunday against the Toronto Raptors.
He returned in Tuesday’s win over the Philadelphia 76ers but reinjured his thigh in the first half and played just 11 minutes. Fox also sat out Wednesday’s win over the Brooklyn Nets.
Fox, the No. 5 overall pick in the draft, is averaging 9.4 points and 3.7 assists per game this season.
