WWE has seen its fare share of breakout talents in 2018, and the company recently released a new social post recognizing who they feel are amongst the very best talents to make a name for themselves this year.

The list includes Champions and former Champions such as Rhea Ripley, Drew McIntyre, Mustafa Ali, Ricochet and Carmella, but one WWE star in particular feels there was a glaring name left of WWE’s choices for Breakout Star of 2018.

Current WWE Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy, who unseated former Champion Cedric Alexander at WWE Super Show-Down, Tweeted the following, expressing his frustration with not being amongst the names mentioned in WWE’s list.

“Just when you thought you made a impact! Leaving it all in the ring, match after match! Having 70,000 ppl chant your name! Becoming the greatest cruiserweight champ in history! I guess I’m still the worlds

It appears as if numerous WWE fans agree with Murphy’s assessment of the Breakout Star list, with one fan Tweeting, “Ricochet was a known quantity & McIntyre I have a hard time saying was a breakout star. Murphy came out of nowhere, blew everyone away, went from not being on nxt for over a year to dominating the entire cw division, and got the biggest pop by far in Australia.”

Another fan noted, “This is so true. Showstealing matches consistently. One of the most impressive career boosts i have seen in recent memory. A graphic means nothing, yourself and your fans know you are one of the best today.”

It’s worth noting that WWE has released its official 2018 year-end awards, and winning in the Breakout Star of the Year category is Elias, which might have the current WWE Cruiserweight Champion venting even more, as he was snubbed in all categories this year by the company itself.
