NFL Playoffs Preview

Minnesota Vikings v Chicago Bears

As the season switches into the playoffs from the regular season, it is fair to say that youngsters Todd Gurley and Patrick Mahomes remain firmly in the spotlight. With this time of year offering players, one final chance to shine and show their managers their true worth before the offseason team listings are finalised. Who goes and who stays remains undetermined and this is always an exciting time of year for fans awaiting the outcomes. Here is a quick rundown of the 6 NFL playoff off teams and possibly line-up changes, and don’t forget you can check out freetips.com‘s NFL tips for more.

Los Angeles Rams

With Anderson replacing injured Gurley proving a smart move after two touchdowns and 299 yards and Aaron Donald redefining his worth with 20.5 sacks, the Rams are sitting pretty. With a return to fitness for Gurley, they have a strong core already assuming the young player remains. Free agent decisions will come in the form of Ndamukong Suh and Dante Fowler, but will they stay or go?

New Orleans Saints

There are some free agency issues looming in the form of Dez Bryant and Mark Ingram for the New Orleans Saints, but with Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara already on a contract they have a strong team. They are indeed contenders for the Super Bowl and seem to have a real knack for finding super talent at a small contract price leaving them with room to manoeuvre and scope for deals to be done while bringing in the best draft prospects.

Seattle Seahawks

It hasn’t been the best of seasons, and an early exit from the playoffs is considered a realistic outcome for the Seattle Seahawks; however, all is not lost. Their top players are safely under contract still, and there is a project cap space of £63 million, so there is lots of scope to bring in some new blood in 2019. One player they will be keen to hang onto is Frank Clark, so they will be pushing to cement that deal.

Chicago Bears

With stellar talent like Khalil Mack, Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen on the benches the Bears have a pretty solid base and $20 million in cap space on offer. The crucial decision will be during free agency when deciding whether Adrian Amos or Bobby Massie gets to stay.

Dallas Cowboys

One of the teams that are looking fairly settled with potentially very little movement. Ezekiel Elliot and Amari Cooper already have a signing for the next seasons, and Dak Prescott is tipped to have his contract extended as well. It looks possible that their core will remain unchanged despite not hitting the heights of the Lombardi Trophy.

Philadelphia Eagles

Having had quite a solid year, the question is now whether the Eagles can repeat their Super Bowl Champions title. With players like Nick Foles, Jordan Matthews and Golden Tate heading into free agency at the close of the season who will stay and who will go?
