Chris Jericho sent shockwaves throughout the pro wrestling world this week when he made a surprise appearance at the All Elite Wrestling rally for Double For Nothing and announced he has officially signed with AEW.

In addition to Jericho, names such as former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville, aka PAC, has signed with AEW, as well as Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, SoCal Uncensored, Brandi Rhodes, Britt Baker, and more.

In a recent interview conducted for Busted Open Radio, Chris Jericho spoke further about his signing with AEW, and discussed his relationship with Vince McMahon.

As we have noted in the past, Chris Jericho has admitted publicly that he alerted Vince McMahon about his intention to work with New Japan Pro Wrestling, given the amicable relationship he has with the WWE Chairman of the Board. Jericho added that he wanted to make sure he had McMahon’s “blessing”, so to speak, to work with the rival NJPW promotion, and he said McMahon was fine with Jericho’s decision.

As for All Elite Wrestling, Jericho revealed on Busted Open that he had “amicable” conversations with Vince McMahon about signing with the promotion, and that Vince was aware before the announcement at the Double Or Nothing rally that Jericho would be signing with AEW.

Also during the interview, Chris Jericho revealed more details on a possible TV deal for All Elite Wrestling, noting, “I wouldn’t have gone to All Elite if there wasn’t a strong TV deal on the table being worked on, and there’s a couple that I know of that are on the table.”

As we have reported in the past, while no official TV deal has been confirmed for AEW, networks such as TNT are said to be in talks with the new promotion about airing the AEW product. As of now, the company has announced its Double Or Nothing event will take place on May 25th in Las Vegas, and a second AEW event will be taking place later this summer. Chris Jericho is expected to be appearing at both announced events.
