LOOK: Triple H Reveals New WWE UK Performance Center

WWE is continuing on its mission to take full control of the global pro wrestling world and the next phase of that mission is now fully underway. First, the company introduced the NXT brand to the United Kingdom.

Now the UK is getting its own Performance Center. The UK PC is a 17,000-square-foot facility that contains two pro wrestling rings. The PC also boasts world class conditioning and workout equipment, as well as a “versatile content creation infrastructure.”

WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent and 14-time world champion Triple H was at the helm of a press conference in the new PC ahead of January 12’s Takeover: Blackpool event. Hunter talked about WWE’s global localization strategy, which included the UK location for the Performance Center. But he also said that this will not be the last PC WWE plans to build.

As the pro wrestling business has grown, so too has WWE’s business plan. The United States is no longer the primary focus for the company and pro wrestling fans can certainly understand why. The rest of the industry has been strengthened by one successful promotion after another.

There are more places for pro wrestlers to work now than in a very long time. There’s also more places for pro wrestlers to earn a good living now as well.

But WWE has always billed itself as the worldwide leader in sports entertainment and that commitment is now becoming a reality. The NXT UK brand continues to grow and so too does WWE’s plan to widen its reach around the globe. The United Kingdom’s Performance Center is just the latest example of this.

It will be interesting to see just how far WWE is willing to go with this expansion initiative. Could Japan be on the company’s radar? With the success of New Japan Pro Wrestling and All-Japan Wrestling, what sort of impact could WWE make in that country? The same can be asked of Mexico, where CMLL and AAA currently reign as the country’s top two promotions. No matter what happens, it’s obvious that when Vince McMahon’s company decides to move forward, there is very little that can stop them.
