Women around the world made sure to unite — via social media — on Friday, showing their support for International Women’s Day.
It was an important day, given how hard women have worked to move toward getting equal rights, equal pay and being viewed in the same way men are — especially professionally.
Clearly, we’re moving in the right direction, but there’s still work to be done, and that’s why days like Friday are extremely important.
Some of the world’s biggest celebrities were aware of that, and they united on social media, posting messages to be seen by their followers. Former NASCAR star Danica Patrick, who is dating Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, was among them. She released a powerful message, which you can check out below.
Supermodel Kate Upton, who is married to Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, also had a lot to say. Check out some of her posts.

“A world without sexism would be a world where hard work, merit and qualifications are put before gender. True partnerships would be present rather than the constrictions of traditional roles. Instead of being put in a box, everyone is on an even playing field and therefore benefits. This is the world in which I want my daughter to thrive.” @glamourmag #internationalwomensday
It’s great to see women around the world are uniting for a great cause.
