Comcast SportsNet to air 145 Phillies games in 2016

As we step closer and closer to start of a brand new baseball season, how we will be able to watch the Phillies this year has been confirmed. Comcast SportsNet will air 145 games this season, a new record for the local sports network. An additional 10 games will be carried by NBC 10, including the home opener on April 11. The remaining seven games will also appear on a Comcast-owned network, The Comcast Network.

CSN Philly also confirmed the broadcast booth will remain the same as last season’s coverage. Tom McCarthy returns as the team’s play-by-play voice, a role he took over following the passing of Harry Kalas early in the 2009 season. McCarthy will be flanked by Matt Stairs, who returns for his third season of booth analysis and storytelling. Ben Davis returns for his second season. Stairs and Davis will split duties in the booth and team up with McCarthy for a three-man crew throughout the season. Gregg Murphy will continue providing his updates from field level and around the stadium throughout the games. Lastly, Mike Schmidt will once again join the broadcast crew for home weekend games. Schmidt will join McCarthy and either Stairs or Davis for those home weekend games.

CSN Philly will also be providing coverage of six spring training games starting March 1. The Comcast Network will add 13 additional spring games to the mix, as well as two Futures games against Phillies prospects (I love this idea).
