Wisconsin men's cross country could be the single most dominate team in any collegiate sport at the division one level and Friday they proved it once again, winning their 11th straight NCAA Great Lakes regional title on their home course. The Badgers were paced by Mohammed Ahmed's individual title.
All of this means the Badgers advance to the national championship to defend their title on Nov. 17th in Louisville, Ky. Bucky paced the field with 43 points, out doing 2nd place Michigan by 30 points (73) for the team title.
Wisconsin's winning effort was led by three Top 10 finishes from Ahmed (1st), Maverick Darling (5th), and Reed Connor (6th). They also got points from Alex Brill (15th) and Rob Finnerty (16th) to round out the 5 point scorers for the Regional Champions.
The Badgers will be making their NCAA record 41st straight championship appearance next weekend, having qualified for every championship since it's inception in 1972. Wisconsin has also won a ridiculous 28 overall regional championships, the most by any team in the country.
