The Badgers (6-3) came out strong Tuesday night and defeated Nebraska Omaha (2-8) 86-40 at the Kohl Center on Friday. It was a great offensive showing for Wisconsin, who shot 48.6% from the field and really had the ball moving fluently throughout the game.
The Badgers were fueled by a pair of double doubles from Ben Brust and Ryan Evans. Brust had 15 points and 10 rebounds, also knocking down four three pointers. Evans had 10 points and 11 rebounds, but again struggled to find consistency from the field, shooting just 5-13 on the night.
Freshman Sam Dekker had another impressive showing for the Badgers, racking up 10 points, 3 assists and 5 rebounds. Sam really had the ball working well, creating a bunch of shot opportunities for teammates and also making a few nice cuts to the basket.
Like I said, offense was really the highlight tonight, as every Badger besides Jordan Smith scored a basket. The 86 points scored was Wisconsin's 2nd highest scoring total of the season, as they scored 87 against Southeastern Louisiana in their opener.
The defense wasn't too bad either, holding Omaha to just 33.3% shooting. Their 40 points was the lowest opponent total on the season. The Badgers also doubled the Maverick's rebounding total: 46 to 23.
The Badgers now have four days of rest before heading East on I-94 to take on rival Marquette on Saturday. Stay tuned for our coverage and thoughts on the upcoming rivalry game!
