Badgers secure big-time Juco QB commit for 2013 class

It's no secret that Wisconsin had been having trouble securing a scholarship quarterback for it's 2013 class. It started with Bielema and seemingly was continuing to happen when Michael Julian spurned a Badgers offer to go to Toledo. However, that can now be put to rest as Badger Blitz and Badger247 are both reporting that Wisconsin has landed the services of Juco QB Tanner McEvoy. 

He called up Wisconsin's coaching staff on Monday and gave them his verbal pledge just two days before National Signing Day, helping to really solidfy a class that was already turing out to be very solid.

According to 247sports.com he is the No. 34 Juco player in the country (No. 20 in the 247 composite ranking) and the No. 1 dual threat quarterback in the nation as well. He comes to Wisconsin from Arizona Western Community College. He held major offers from Florida, Oregon, and West Virginia as well as the Badgers. 

Tanner is listed as 6'6" and 220lbs according to Scout and at 6'6" and 200lbs according to 247sports. Tanner was a highly sought after recruit out of high school, but an unfortunate choice led him to not enroll at South Carolina and decide to take his 

With McEvoy's commitment the Badgers moved up to No. 32 on the 247 team rankings and No. 31 in their composite rankings, safely putting this class as one of, if not the best classes the Badgers have ever put down on paper.

The commitment from McEvoy could be just one of two the Badgers may get today, as the No. 1 running back in the nation (according to 247sports), Alex Collins, will make his announcement tonight at 9pm Central. So, perhaps Monday will be a great day after all?
