Well, the up and down nature of the Badger football program off the field has officially been on the upswing for the past 24 hours. Just shortly after top QB prospect Austin Kafentzis made his commitment to the Badgers for 2015, they've added another commitment, this time in the highly touted 2014 class as in-state linebacker Dominic Cizauskas of Mukwonago made it known he too was committing to the Badgers.
Cizauskas made is commitment within 24 hours of officially receiving his offer from coach Andersen and the Badgers. While the Badgers had hopes of landing the "Super Six" of George Panos, Jaden Gault, Craig Evans, Conor Sheehey, Billy Hirschfield, and Galien Elmore they are now at that total of six Wisconsin born commits in the 2014 class despite Elmore's pledge to the Gophers earlier this week. Cizauskas is not rated by any of the services and could be one of the under the radar guys Andersen is know to cultivate and love coaching.
Wisconsin now has seven verbal commitments in the 2014 class, six of which are in-state prospects. UW ranks 39th in the 247composite ranking nationally and is currently sitting 7th in the Big Ten.
It's clear that after camping and playing in front of the coaches that the 6'2", 250lbs. linebacker made an impression on the coaches. They offered on Tuesday and he accepted shortly after, choosing the Badgers over offers from Ball State, Northern Illinois, Minnesota, and some FCS level programs in the Midwest.
Some services have the linebacker timed at a 4.59 40-yard dash, which would put him in the range that the Badgers and DC Dave Aranda are looking for in their new 3-4 scheme.
