As we continue our countdown it's just 70 days till the ball is in the air and the games are officially underway and that means only one thing here – we're just Dan Voltz to Badger football.
Voltz will play a key role for Wisconsin this season and he's been perhaps the most talked about recruit in the 2012 class. He'll be stepping into the center position, starting as just a redshirt freshman. Needless to say his ability to seamlessly transition into that role will be huge to the Badgers success this season.
He has not played a single game in a Badger uniform yet, but his performance as camp goes on will certainly be one of the bigger storylines that will be followed.
History of No. 70 at Wisconsin:
Dennis Lick (OT, 1972-75): Lick was a two time All-Big Ten selection (1974, 75) and a consensus All-American in 1975. He was inducted into the UW Hall of Fame in 2004. Lick went on to be drafted No. 8 overall by the Chicago Bears in the 1976 NFL draft, playing seven seasons in the league. He was named to the 1976 all-Rookie team.
Casey Rabach (OL, 1997-2000): Rabach was a stalwart on the offensive lines for the 99 and 2000 Rose Bowl teams. He would go on to a great NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens (drafted him in the 3rd round of the 2001 NFL draft) and Washington Redskins, last playing in 2010.
