Happy Sunday Funday! It's appropriate considering the fact that we bring you not one, but two Badgers who share No. 41 on this team heading into camp. For us that means we are just Jesse Hayes and Troy Fumagalli to the start of the Gary Andersen era.
Hayes is entering his redshirt sophomore season in 2013 after seeing action in three games in 2012. He made his Badger debut on the field against Oregon State and saw action in the next two games against Utah State and UTEP. However, that was the last action he'd see. Hayes didn't record any stats in his three games of action.
As for Fumagalli, he is a member of the class of 2013 and was a two-star recruit by 247sports while ranking as a three-star by ESPN, scout, and Rivals. His dad played football at Holy Cross and his brother played baseball at Dayton.
History of No. 41 at Wisconsin:
Milo Lubratovich (T, 1928-30): Was named a consensus All-American in 1930 after missing the 1929 season with a broken leg. Played in the 1930 East-West Shrine Game and went on to play in the NFL for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1931-35.
Terrell Fletcher (RB, 1991-94): Fletcher finished his career at the UW with 3,414 yards and 29 touchdowns, good enough to rank him 7th and 9th respectively on the career lists at Wisconsin. He rushed for 1,476 yards his senior season, ranking 12th on the single season rushing list. After his days at Wisconsin Fletcher was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the 2nd round of the 1995 NFL Draft. He played 8 seasons, all with the Chargers before retiring after the 2002 season.
