What happened off the field on Saturday was nearly as important as the result on it as Wisconsin hosted a number of potentially big time recruits for official visits. After the weekend the Badgers picked up their 12th verbal commitment to the class of 2014 as defensive end Rohan Blackwood committed.
Blackwood is a 3-star prospect by both the 247 composite and the 247 rankings. He comes as the 2nd commit attributed to defensive coordinator Dave Aranda as well. According to his profile Blackwood chose the Badgers over offers from the likes of Nebraska, South Florida, Miami, Minnesota, Iowa State and about 17 other schools.
So, what kind of an impact will Blackwood make on the Badgers in the future. According to our partners at Badger247, he could have a big impact at the hybrid OLB/DE position.
"Blackwood is a player that Wisconsin is absolutely thrilled about," Badger247 insider Evan Flood told us. "Defensive Coordinator Dave Aranda and the staff love his potential in the 3-4 defense as a hybrid OLB/DE. He's similar to what Alec James and Leon Jacobs will eventually do for Wisconsin.
"Blackwood is a taller, lanky prospect right now that uses his hands well and can explode into the backfield. This is another kid that's not 100 percent devoted to football right now either as he's a pretty good basketball player too. Once he gets to Madison and commits to the game full time, he'll be even better."

Wisconsin moved to No. 38 nationally and No. 6 in the Big Ten according to the 247 rankings following this commitment.
With a number of very highly thought of prospects having already visited and some coming sooner than later, this could be the beginning of a nice in-season run of commitments for the Badgers.
