Early Basketball Preview: North Dakota

Talk about taking a rivalry too far? Holy crap!

School: University of North Dakota

Location: Grand Forks, North Dakota

Conference: Big Sky

Undergrad Enrollment: 14,378

2012-13 Record: 16-17

Top Returning Players: North Dakota returns two double-digit scores from a season ago in forward Troy Huff (19.2ppg, 6.9rpg) and guard Aaron Anderson (13.3ppg 3.3apg) from a team that made a postseason tournament for the first time since moving up to the Division 1 level a few years ago. Those two will form the building blocks of a talents and deep team, as four starters from last season return in total.

Who'd Win in a Mascot Fight?: Problem with this question is….North Dakota doesn't have a mascot, let alone a nickname at the moment. They are no longer the Fighting Sioux, so Badger is safe in this one, moving his record to 3-1 on the young season.

One Interesting Major: Norwegian

One Fact to Help you Win your Local Trivia Night: North Dakota is the only Division School without an official nickname or mascot…

Prediction: This game will be interesting because North Dakota has a good inside-out combo with Huff and Anderson and they also play in a pretty decent conference in the Big Sky. Wisconsin teams have a knack for not really playing well against the state of North Dakota and this team could give UW some challenges since it will only be their fourth game of the season. However, I see the Badgers using the Kohl Center crowd to their advantage. Give me the Badgers pulling away in the second half to win easily.
