Wisconsin continues to keep up a frenetic pace on the commitment trail for the class of 2014, adding its second commitment this week alone. After adding to the offensive line on Thursday, the Badgers received a verbal commitment from defensive tackle Jeremy Patterson on Saturday.
His commitment is the 18th for the Badgers and the second from Jesup (GA) Wayne County. Patterson joins teammate Krenwick Sanders in verbally committing to Wisconsin.
More impressively, it officially jumps Wisconsin into the 247sports' Top 25 nationally and to number three in the Big Ten, overtaking Penn State in conference once again.
247sports rated Patterson as a 3-star prospect and the 27th best defensive tackle in the class of 2014.
Patterson may have been one of the biggest commitments for the Badgers, simply because of who they beat out for Patterson's commitment.
He chose Wisconsin over offers from the likes of Florida State, Florida, Clemson, North Carolina and North Carolina State.
Wisconsin is now loading itself up pretty well on the defensive line in the 2014 class, adding Patterson to the likes of Craig Evans, Connor Sheehy, Joe Keels and Billy Hirschfeld.
All five of which are 3-star or better according to our partners at Badger247.
Patterson's stats are pretty eye-popping as well, having 25 tackles, four forced fumbles and seven sacks in just six games so far this season.
It's easy to see why when you look at his highlight reel.
Safe to say the Badgers may be reloading instead of rebuilding on the defensive line next year.
