The Badgers are still waiting in the wings when it comes the class of 2015, with offers out to four Top 100 players from the Midwest. Well, make that five offers now, as Wisconsin got in for the No. 25-ranked point guard in the country, Jimmy Whitt.
According to Badger247 ($), Wisconsin made the offer on Thursday. While the 6’4″, 170-pound guard is listed as point guard, the Badgers see him as more of a combo player. UW joined Wake Forest and Nebraska in offering on the opening day of May.
It is believed that Arkansas and Kansas are out in front for the smooth-shooting guard, but the Jayhawks have yet to offer the guard. According to reports Whitt will be taking all five visits this fall, and his interest in the Badgers is pretty high coming off the Final Four appearance (to learn more we suggest subscribing to our partners at Badger247 – there’s a free 30-day trial offer right now).

Watching his highlight tape it is easy to see why the Badgers have offered the Columbia (Hickman), Mo. native. He shows some good ball handling skills, but also an ability to stretch defenses with his length at the guard position.
He joins fellow point guard Jarvis Johnson, power forwards Henry Ellenson and Josh Sharma, as well as center Diamond Stone as Top 100 players that Wisconsin has offers out to and realistic chances with.
UW will likely only be taking five players in the class, baring something crazy happening to the scholarship numbers between now and November. It means there may only be one place at guard for UW, and it could be first come, first serve in the fall between Johnson and Whitt. They both could be game-changing type guards for the Badgers, and a recruiting battle to keep an eye on.
