ESPN began revealing the brackets for most major college basketball tournament on Tuesday, and among that group was the Battle 4 Atlantis—which the Wisconsin Badgers will participate in this season.

In revealing the bracket, Wisconsin found out it will face UAB in the first round of the tournament. Considering names like Butler, Florida, Georgetown, Oklahoma, UCLA and North Carolina are also on the bill — it was the best possible matchup the Badgers could’ve hoped for in the first round.

The Blazers are coming off a 17-13 season and were just 7-9 in Conference-USA play last season. It will be a very young UAB team as well, with only C.J. Washington as a senior on the roster heading in to the season. There are just two upperclassmen at all on the roster, with junior shooting guard Robert Brown joining Washington as experienced players.

Perhaps the Badgers getting UAB is also a sign of the respect they have earned after the run to the Final Four last season?

After all, one look at the rest of the bracket and you see juicy matchups galore.

In fact, one look at the potential next opponent for Wisconsin and you see a great matchup. That’s because the Badgers will take on the winner/loser (depending on UW’s W or L) of a Florida vs. Georgetown matchup.

Other first round matchups include UCLA vs. Oklahoma and Butler vs. North Carolina.

With the Battle 4 Atlantis, each team is guaranteed at least three games, even if you lose the first two.

The Badgers and Blazers are scheduled to tango in the Caribbean at 7pm ET on AXStv, and should UW win that matchup it’s next game would air on ESPN2.
