Recruiting season never ends, and for the Wisconsin Badgers they’ve been able to concentrate a lot of attention on the quarterback position in the 2016 class thanks to UW’s 2015 QB being locked up for well over a year now.
With Austin Kafentzis, who continues to shatter records, already in the fold the coaching staff has set its sets high in the class of 2016. On Thursday night, 247Sports reported that Wisconsin made a new offer to a 2016 quarterback.
UW offered alleged 4-star quarterback Ervin Barrett out of Orlando (Winter Garden), Fla., who according to the article is ranked as the No. 9 athlete and the No. 16 recruit in the state of Florida.
However, his personal page on the site is either not current or something was array, as his personal page ranks him as the No. 31 athlete and the No. 53-ranked player in the state of Florida.
Whichever he is, the film out there speaks volumes of his ability as an athlete to say the least. He also appears to have a very strong arm with improving skills as a pure quarterback too.
Barton Simmons of 247Sports also had a few Vines of Barrett from this spring, where he noted that the QB is up to 215 pounds and has been working on his QB skill set over the spring and summer.
It’s unknown the level of interest Barrett has in the Badgers, as he previously named a top three of Auburn, Louisville and Clemson (in order).
However, he also isn’t the only quarterback to be offered by the Badgers in the 2016 class. Wisconsin also has offers out to pro-style quarterbacks Dwayne Haskins and Jarrett Guarantano. UW also has offers out to dual-threat quarterbacks Malik Henry, Xavier Gaines, Brandon McIlwain and Seth Green.
