Now we get to everyone’s favorite team. It also will be the first true road game for the Badgers this year.

The Badgers will travel to Marquette on December 6 with an 11:30 a.m. tip-off

School: Marquette Golden Eagles

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Conference: Big East

Undergrad Enrollment: 8,378

2013-14 record: (17-15, 9-9 Big East)

Top returning players: Deonte Burton (6.9 pts, 2.2 rebounds); Derrick Wilson (5 pts, 4.2 assists); Juan Anderson (3.2 pts, 3.3 rebounds)

Who’d win in a mascot fight?:If the Eagle is forced to a ground match, I’ll give a slight advantage to the Badger. If the Eagle is able to attack from above, it’s not really fair.

One interesting major: American Military History

One fact to help you win your local trivia night: Marquette’s nickname in 2004 was very briefly simply Gold.

Prediction: Marquette does not return a lot. In fact, it does not have a single player in the preseason first, second, and honorable mention team. To make matters worse, transfers Luke Fischer can’t play until after the fall semester and Wally Ellenson can’t play at all this year. With that being said, these games are always tough. If the Badgers were younger, I’d say this was a trap game, but the experienced team will know what to expect and still win by double digits.
