Big Ten Basketball Week Preview: November 17-23

-2

It’s time for the first full week of B1G basketball predictions. Like this past weekend, there aren’t a lot of great match-ups. Other than the Game of the Week, the other good games I see are Michigan State and Duke facing off in the Champions Classic and SMU traveling to Indiana.

Anyways, let’s get those picks!

Last week (18-0) & Season (18-0)

Game of the Week

Iowa vs. Texas

You are probably wondering why this isn’t the Michigan State/Duke game, and I’ll be honest, that was here first. As I started writing the preview, though, I just couldn’t see anyway Michigan State wins that game. They looked sluggish against a Navy team that was blown out by Notre Dame and it’s just the under card of the Champions Classic. Iowa/Texas on the other hand, should be a great game at Madison Square Garden. Texas will be favored, but I see Iowa hanging right with them. Texas has the young star power in Isaiah Taylor and Myles Turner, but Iowa can match their game. In the end, I still see Iowa losing, but it won’t be a disappointing loss at all. The Hawkeyes will then face either California or Syracuse in the second game of the tournament. If they face Cal, it would be worth watching as the Badgers travel to Berkeley later this year.
