So far things have stayed put on the recruiting trail for the Wisconsin Badgers, despite the turmoil of a coaching change. On Monday night the Badgers got some more good news in the quest to keep it’s 2015 class together.
Our recruiting partners at Badger247 are reporting 3-star linebacker Nick Thomas is sticking with the Badgers. He had taken a visit to Nebraska last week and the Kansas native appeared to be wavering in his commitment.
Thomas told Badger247 that the feeling at Wisconsin was just right for him in the end, and he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be in Madison, Wis.
“I decided to stay with Wisconsin,” Thomas told Badger247. “I knew it was a special place when I committed. Talking with Coach Chryst just reassured that for me. I loved Nebraska, but Wisconsin was the right place for me.”
Thomas is the No. 36-ranked linebacker by 247Sports and is the No. 56-ranked linebacker by the 247Sports composite rankings.
Having Dave Aranda back on staff was seen as a huge part of keeping Thomas in the fold, and clearly his conversation with head coach Paul Chryst was key to reassuring what is happening at Wisconsin.
Thomas will join fellow inside linebacker commits Chris Orr (DeSoto, Texas) and Jordan Griffin (Seffner, FL) in the 2015 class.
