The Wisconsin Badgers are off to their third best start in school history, and are leading the Big Ten by a game and a half over five teams. One of those teams trailing the Badgers is Indiana. The high scoring Hoosiers lost their top 25 ranking in recent weeks due to poor play, losing three of their last four road games, but their fast paced play and ability to spread he court will challenge the Badgers, who like to play at a much slower tempo.
Tuesday’s game at the Kohl Center in Madison is one of the cheapest home games remaining on the Badger’s schedule. The get-in price of $18 and average ticket price of $63 – according to TiqIQ – is far less than the prices for home games against Northwestern and Illinois.

In their last outing the Badgers defeated Iowa 74-63, thanks to 24 points from their star center Frank Kaminsky. The seven-foot Kaminsky is averaging 17.6 points per game and over 8 rebounds a contest. The small lineup of Indiana is going to have to find a way to deal with Kaminsky’s post presence. Wisconsin’s defense has also been a huge part of their great start to the season. Currently they are averaging one of the lowest points-per-game allowed tallies in the country, and on average force 7.7 turnovers a game. Their stifling defense will have to be on top of their game when the star shooters from Indiana take the court on Wednesday.
Freshman James Blackmon Jr. has been one of the best freshman guards so far. He is averaging 16.5 ppg and has shot the three ball at over 40% accuracy all season long. His partner, junior Yogi Ferrell boasts similar statistics. His 16.1 ppg and over 40% three point shooting accuracy have made the duo lethal to opposing defenses.
The Hoosiers have struggled to get the better of the Badgers in the history of this series. Wisconsin has won 13 of the last fourteen matchups and Indiana has not won in Madison for over 12 years. If they can defend Wisconsin’s big men and shoot the three well then that have a chance at taking down the conference leaders.
