Last season the Wisconsin Badgers saw not one, but two true freshmen play at safety. Fast forward to spring and only one of those two will be back, as Austin Hudson will not return to the University of Wisconsin football program.
According to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal, defensive coordinator Dave Aranda confirmed the long-rumored move.
“Austin is no longer with us,” said Aranda, via 0ur exclusive recruiting partners at Badger247. “You’ll probably have to get the rest from Coach Chryst.”
Hudson played in all 14 games as a true freshman last season, finishing the season with 19, including one for loss, and a forced fumble.
With incoming JUCO transfer Serge Trezy, a move to safety by Tanner McEvoy and the return of last season’s starter Lubern Figaro, Hudson clearly was falling down the depth chart and playing time was going to become very difficult to come by.
Hudson is expected to transfer to South Florida per the Badger247 report.
