Everyone knew the Wisconsin Badgers of 2014-15 were stocked with at least two future NBA draft picks, but perhaps the longest of shots to make NBA waves has apparently done that. That’s because reports indicate ex-Badgers forward Duje Dukan got an official contract offer from the Scaramento Kings.

Dukan was a sharp-shooting big man and that ability translates well to the NBA level these days. Dukan played in the NBA Summer League with the Kings, where he impressed with his ability to hit the deep ball.
He played in five games, starting one and averaging just 18.0 minutes per game. In those limited moments he made the most out it with 9.2 points per game. Dukan also shot 41.7 percent from beyond the arc and actually was in double figures scoring in four of the five contests he played in.
If you throw out the Denver game, where Dukan went scoreless, he actually hit just over 58 percent of his three-point attempts. That’s just a number you can’t simply ignore in a big enough sample size.
Dukan’s best game came in the third contest of the Las Vegas Summer League, playing the second of back-to-back games against Golden State. He had a Summer League-high 13 points and six rebounds and shot 2 of 4 from deep, while shooting 5 of 8 overall for the game in just 17 minutes of action.
Given that production it is easy to see why he would be of value to an NBA team off the bench to start with. His ability to hit the deep ball and pull taller players out of the middle of the court was on full display in a way it simply wasn’t at Wisconsin.
