Guess what? There is no more Melvin Gordon in the Wisconsin Badgers backfield. As strange as that may seem to some and as quickly as the time has gone, the Badgers backfield will move on. Next in line is junior running back Corey Clement.
Living in the wake of a 2,000-yard rusher can be a daunting task for some, but for Clement it is all about the opportunity in front of him.
One thing is for sure, Clement does not lack for confidence in his abilities or who he is as a player. However, there are still times where he catches himself wondering how he got to where he is at. After all, there is no more James White or Gordon to hide behind.
Clement has to be “the guy” at Wisconsin in 2015, but don’t expect him to focus on the number of carries or the yards he is likely to pile up either. Instead, Clement’s focus is on doing his work so the team can succeed.
