Missed Opportunities

PAinter

Today was another waste of good starting pitching. The Cubs gave the Mets gifts all night long, but we finished up with only one measly run. What happened to the 11-run offense from last night? Zack Wheeler put up zero’s. He pitched 6 plus innings of shutout ball, giving up just two hits, walking two and striking out seven. That’s enough to get a win right?

Missed Opportunities

Not necessarily. After Wheelers departure, Josh Edgin took over and little did you know it the game was tied 1-1. Matt den Dekker watched Chris Coghlan go deep. The only Mets run came on a Curtis Granderson sacrifice fly in the 1st. They had opportunities in the 2nd, 3rd and 5th innings. Last night’s hero left 5 men on base. I spoke too soon Wilmer, I want that game ball back. This team is offensively inept. They left a total of 10 on base. They had a chance to break the game wide open with the bases loaded and no one out in the 3rd. But, the our $7M outfielder hit into a force play. I am numb right now as I write this. I am not sure if it’s because of the lack of sleep I have been getting or the amount of BS this team puts me through. There is no one to blame but yourselves. Cubs pitching wasn’t lights out. There own the worst record in the baseball for a reason. Instead of eating 103 Philly cheesesteaks, you should’ve focused on situational hitting!!!
