Bobby Abreu hit clean up today with Curtis Granderson still out with a nagging calf. He had four hits. His first four hit game in three years. Who would have thought? We even scored with runners in scoring position with two outs. Bartolo Colon looked shaky early on, but dominated the game after allowing a two-run homer to former Mets catching prospect Rene Rivera. He went 7 2/3 innings, giving the bullpen a break. I guess old Andre and grandpa Abreu still have what it takes. Even Taylor Teagarden had himself another opposite field hit. I thought that grand slam the other night was going to be his only hit as a Met. We are living in bizarro world people. A career .205 hitter is doing quite well so far, while Travis d’Arnaud is hitting bomba’s left and right in Vegas.
When I am trying to relieve the stress of this Rangers’s game, I flip on SNY, and remember that Bobby Abreu is a Met. And I laugh and laugh.

Well at least the Mets scored some runs. Now lets see if we can repeat this later today. If not, fans have 50 Cent to look forward to (is he even relevant anymore?)
