Pittsburgh Pirates Social Media Round-up: Anniversary Celebrations, Cervy in a Speedo and a Singing Brault

Let the latest social media antics of the Pittsburgh Pirates soothe your pre-Thanksgiving worries with music, a fashion show and even a little baseball!

Let’s start this pre-Thanksgiving edition of the Pittsburgh Pirates Social Media Round-up on a positive note, shall we? Mr. Brault, please do the honors…

While I was hoping for a little ditty about dead skunks, that wasn’t half bad!

Juan Nicasio is spending time this offseason putting together some nice casual OOTDs – love this matchy-matchy thang he’s doing here with his hat and sneakers…

I hope he and Alen Hanson weren’t going to the same place…

Starling Marte will have none of that red and black vibe – he’s rocking a bold all-white look for a night on the town. Although those sneakers…we need a close up of them.

Felipe Rivero is really taking his offseason nutrition seriously – here are apparently his meals for the BEGINNING of the week. Rivero has a deal going with Icon Meals, which provides pre-prepared food to athetes to meet all sorts of dietary needs.

Apparently, they make sweet snacks, too.

For MLB players, the offseason is a time to cram in all of those things you just can’t do while playing 162 baseball games. Like get married and stuff. Last week we saw a few posts from Gerrit Cole’s wedding, and this week, a few Pirates celebrated their November wedding anniversaries.

Like Trevor Willams and his lovely wife, Jackie:

And Andrew McCutchen and his wife, Maria:

The McCutchens might be celebrating in warmer climes, judging from Cutch’s Tweet from a few days before…

Francisco Cervelli has a plan to support his girlfriend as well as his sister in their new lifestyle site – become a contributor! Cervy recently penned a piece for the publication about being a “Mama’s Boy.” In the article he talks about how when he was younger he developed an almost superstitious need to talk to his mom before each baseball game he played (interestingly enough, in the article, at this point he writes, “I’m a professional baseball player” as an aside) and details how he knew he needed to break that habit. It’s an interesting read and offers some insight into his way of thinking not just as a player, but as a man in a 2010’s world.

Aside from writing, the amiable backstop’s been getting his regular workouts in with his favorite partner, Melky Cabrera.

Meanwhile, his fellow catcher Elias Diaz is playing through the MLB offseason – and couldn’t be happier about it.

Translation: Thank you Lord for allowing me to be back on the playing field, what I like to do. I feel super happy and thankful with God. Thank you for the preparation.

While Josh Harrison isn’t PLAYING baseball, he certainly has it on his mind while checking out this custom bat recently…

The Salt to J-Hay’s Pepper, Jordy Mercer, is stalking deer this fall instead of baseballs – and according to his Mercer Ranch, they’re having quite a productive opening weekend thus far…

Gregory Polanco is getting in his offseason work – and having a little fun too.
