- Brandon Wood talks up his minor league teammate Sean Rodriguez, who some are hailing as a replacement for the struggling Howie Kendrick. Seeing how Wood can’t even convince the Angels to call him up, I don’t see how his comments will have any effect on Sean Rodriguez’s status with the club.
- Howie Kendrick just can’t win. He finally gets a hit last night but drew Mike Scioscia’s ire for getting doubled off on a flyball because he didn’t know the outs.
- Mike Scioscia is now officially on record as saying that the Angels do consider sending Kendrick to the minors to work out his issues in the minors, but aren’t ready to do so… yet. Personally, I think that such a move would crush Kendrick confidence, possibly permanently, but I am also in favor of anything that might result in a Brandon Wood promotion.
- INJURY UPDATE: All systems are go for Kelvim Escobar to start against the Tigers this Saturday.
- Torii Hunter is slowly moving up in the All-Star voting; he is now in sixth-place, up from tenth-place in the last set of voting results.
- Brandon Wood still doesn’t know when he is going to get called up, but his attitude remains right.
