The Angels have announced their tentative roster for the ALDS. Things are subject to change based on the health of Maicer Izturis and Jason Bulger:
CATCHERS: Jeff Mathis, Mike Napoli, Bobby Wilson
INFIELDERS: Erick Aybar, Chone Figgins, Howie Kendrick, Maicer Izturis, Kendry Morales, Robb Quinlan.
OUTFIELDERS: Bobby Abreu, Vladimir Guerrero, Torii Hunter, Gary Matthews Jr., Juan Rivera, Reggie Willits.
STARTING PITCHERS: Scott Kazmir, John Lackey, Joe Saunders and Jered Weaver.
RELIEF PITCHERS: Jason Bulger, Brian Fuentes, Kevin Jepsen, Darren Oliver, Matt Palmer, Ervin Santana.
And here are the projected starters for both the Halos and Red Sox for the series:
Game 1: Jon Lester (15-8) vs. John Lackey (11-8)
Game 2: Josh Beckett (17-6) vs. Jered Weaver (16-8)
Game 3: Clay Buchholz (7-4) vs. Scott Kazmir (10-9)
Game 4: TBD vs. Joe Saunders (16-7)
Game 5: TBD vs. John Lackey (11-8)
The only thing left to decide is when the series will begin. The Yankees get to choose whether to start their series Wednesday or Thursday and they are very likely to start things on Wednesday. That is great news for the Angels as it created less of a chance of the Red Sox starting Lester in Game 4 if necessary.
