Halo Headlines – 9/3/10

Daily links for the LA Angels including the Halos actually haven’t used the most lineups, defense’ evidence thrown out in the Adenhart trial, Kendrick is more than average and much more.Halo Headlines - 9/3/10

The Story: The Angels 109 different lineups is actually not that uncommon.

The Monkey Says: The Halos have used a lot of lineups, for sure, but four teams have actually used more, so don’t go thinking that Scioscia is alone in his inability to settle on a batting order.

The Story: Evidence for the defense in the Adenhart trial was thrown out by the judge.

The Monkey Says: This is good news for the prosecution because the defense was going to try and put some of the blame on the driver of Adenhart’s car, but the judge isn’t letting it happen.

The Story: Howie Kendrick is showing he more than average.

The Monkey Says: He is?  I believe his 0.5 WAR this season begs to differ.  Look, I like Howie, but I really wonder if he hasn’t already maxed out his talent already.  He has taken a step back this season and there is a chance he could be traded away this off-season.

The Story: Mike Scioscia is making Jordan Walden one of his primary set-up men.

The Monkey Says: The Halos are making no bones about finding out what they really have in Walden and clearly want to test his mettle the rest of this season.  Expect to see a lot of Walden in the seventh inning for the rest of the year.

The Story: The absence of Kendry Morales is having a profound affect.

The Monkey Says: While true, people should be very careful not to place too much of the blame for the poor offense on one person’s loss.  The batting order needs a lot more help than just getting K-Mo back and operational.
