101 games into the season and the Angels now find themselves in a somewhat precarious situation. No longer in second place in the AL West and in the less than secure second wild card position, the Angels are on the precipice of disaster. I’m not trying to be melodramatic but if this team doesn’t start stringing some wins together they could be on the outside looking in.
Game Notes
— When Mike Trout is not on, the Halo offense sputters like a ’73 Pinto. Trout took a rare collar and put pressure on the rest of the team to pick things up. That was a task to overwhelming for the other eight hitters.
— Welcome back Vernon Wells, nice of you to bring your own unique suckage to the party. And this was better than Peter Bourjos how?
— You know your offense is stalling when your best hitter might be Bobby Wilson.
— CJ Wilson needs to knock off the throwing pitches crap. He seems to have a 3-2 count on every other hitter. As a result he rarely goes late into games. He’s like the modern day Kevin Appier…not a compliment.
Halo A Hole
I never thought I would miss Erick Aybar as much I did tonight. Maicer Izturis was awful in the field with one error and another that he was responsible for. Hurry back Erick, our defense misses you.
