Thank goodness for meaningful victories.
…not that every victory isn't meaningful. But you know what I mean.
Game Notes:
– It's unfortunate that it took a while for the real Zack Greinke to appear on the mound for the Angels, but better late than never. Greinke has made his season turnaround much more evident in his past few starts and is performing at the necesary caliber needed this late in the season. Tonight's numbers: 7 IP, 4 K, 4 H, 1 BB and 1 ER. Not too shabby considering the last time Greinke faced the A's, he lasted five innings and gave up four runs.
– Mark Trumbo wasn't in the line up for the Angels tonight. Mike Scioscia deicded it would be best to give him a "mental day off." Trumbo is 4 for 34 with 16 K. I would have given him a day off, too.
– Does it feel like Albert Pujols has hit a double in every single game since his return from the DL to anyone else? Not that I mind.
– Kendrys Morales had a big night at the plate with three hits. Mike Trout, Albert Pujols and Alberto Callaspo would also join Morales in a mutihit game this evening. Speaking of Trouty, The Natural pulled through in the top of the fifth inning and earned his 75 RBI. I just don't understand.
Halo Hero:
A team can't win if they don't score! Er, well, score more than your team. Greinke held the A's to one run tonight. So, congratulations sir. You're tonight's Halo Hero.
Sweep, please. Keep it rolling.
