Aybar, Hamilton Provide the Fireworks in the 9th; Angels Beat Cardinals 6- 5

Now, I don’t want to advocate the use of chewing tobacco or anything, but Josh Hamilton, man you should have never quit.  After an Albert Pujols single to left, Hamilton came up and crushed a 1-0 pitch over the centerfield wall to tie the game at 5.  Aybar came up a few batters later and sealed the comeback with a short liner to left, driving in Howie.

Sure, Aybar had the fatal blow, but Hamilton is the real story here.  After a week full of “no comments” in question of his reuse, Hamilton finally answered with his bat.  Hey if no one else wants to say it, I will.  Josh Hamilton is clearly better when he is chewing tobacco.  It’s the only difference observable from this week and the previous three months of the season.  Let the dude do what ever he wants, as long as he’s earning his paycheck…and as long as it's not other drugs.

Angels 6, Cardinals 5

Game Notes

–Joe Blanton went 5 1/3 innings giving up 4 earned runs, his one mistake being Allen Craig’s 3 run homer in the 4th inning.  The guy’s racking up the strikeouts, he’s just having trouble preventing players from crossing the plate.

–Mark Trumbo hit his 19th homer of the season against Wainwright, an opposite field blast.  It was nice to see a Trumbomb on Independence Day.  There were so many fireworks in the game for fans. I'm not sure the after-game show was necessary.

–Mike Trout drove in the game’s first runs in the 3rd with a two-run single.  Blah Blah Blah Mike Trout is amazing Blah Blah Blah.

–Kohn, Jepsen, and Downs combined to pitch 3 1/3 scoreless innings.  It feels like the bullpen is finally hitting its groove.  It wouldn’t hurt to have a healthy Madson though…any time soon.

It's really Hamilton and Aybar.  But, Aybar didn't have any sophisticated photos on Google.
