Halo Headlines: Kendrick could return this weekend, Arizona Fall League rosters announced

The August 28th, 2013 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Kendrick could return this weekend, Arizona Fall League rosters announced and much more…

The Story: Howie Kendrick could return to the active roster as soon as this weekend.

The Monkey Says: That will help the Angels not suck so much, but it could result in Grant Green not playing as much as he should. However, it could also mean moving Green to third to show if he can handle that position. I think we've all seen enough of Chris Nelson at this point to know that he isn't part of the future.

The Story: The Angels announced they will send eight players to the Arizona Fall League.

The Monkey Says: They are: R.J. Alvarez, Cam Bedrosian, Mike Morin, Michael Roth, Jett Bandy, Zach Borenstein, C.J. Cron and Taylor Lindsey. That is a solid crop compared to who they have sent some years. I'll be particularly interested in seeing what Alvarez can do against the increased competition as he could be a dark horse to make the Opening Day bullpen in 2014.

The Story: Scott Boras floated the idea of a 12-year contract extension for Bryce Harper.

The Monkey Says: That is quite the ambitious idea. Doing something like that would certainly work to set the market for a potential Mike Trout extension, so the Angels should monitor it closely.

The Story: The final Battle of Los Angeles of the season and probably ever.

The Monkey Says: So, yeah, that turned out to be a battle like the Battle of Cold Harbor turned out to be a battle. Alas, an entertaining weekly article rides off into the sunset with us left to wonder how much better it could have been had the Angels not been a giant sack of crap.
