Halo Headlines: Trout has heard nothing new on an extension, McDonald facing roster placement deadline

The March 25th, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Trout has heard nothing new on an extension, McDonald facing roster placement deadline and much more…

The Story: Mike Trout hasn't heard any news on his potential contract extension either.

The Monkey Says: In summary, nobody knows anything about anything.

The Story: John McDonald faces a deadline today to either be added to the active roster or be paid $100,000 or be released.

The Monkey Says: In other words, he is going to be added to the active roster as many have predicted for weeks.

The Story: Trying to figure out the Angels remaining roster spots.

The Monkey Says: Shuck has been getting the starts in spring games, so it seems likely that he will win one of the remaining bench spots with Stewart, Green and Cowgill battling for the final spot. As for the bullpen, it is a bit surprising that Gonzalez didn't think Fernando Salas had a spot locked up. It is not surprising that he has no idea who else would fill out the bullpen because Mike Scioscia is being deliberately tight-lipped about what the Opening Day roster is going to look like. It's a roster, Mike. Not codes to launching nuclear missles.

The Story: C.J. Wilson has thrown the third-most pitches in the majors since 2010.

The Monkey Says: Remember that the next time someone tells you that Wilson has a "young" arm for a 33-year old.

The Story: A poll of MLB players showed that they think Mike Trout is the best player in the game.

The Monkey Says: Once again we learn that the BBWAA still has their finger on the pulse of baseball.

The Story: Everyone in the AL West is injured.

The Monkey Says: Well, everyone on the A's and Rangers, especially the Rangers. Now, if you need me, I''ll be sitting at my desk laughing maniacally.
