The June 5th, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Trout has ‘clean’ MRI on his back, reviewing mock drafts and much more…

The Story: Mike Trout’s MRI on his back was “clean” and he will avoid the DL.
The Monkey Says: It also revealed that he has an adamantium skeleton. Scioscia went on to say that Trout would do “just the opposite” of going on the DL. Scientists are still trying to figure out exactly what that means, but I’m pretty sure it means Trout will be bringing other guys off the DL through the power of faith healing. Let’s see how good his healing powers are as Trout believes he will play tomorrow.

The Story: Jim Callis’ mock draft for the first round of today’s amateur draft.
The Monkey Says: He, once again, has the Halos taking C/OF Kyle Schwarber. Callis is pretty good at this, so it will be an upset

The Story: Perfect Game has the Angels selecting Kyle Schwarber.
The Monkey Says: This is the general consensus, but as they suggest, it is possible the college arms they want just won’t be there, so Schwarber will be their consolation prize.

The Story: A primer for the Angels’ draft.
The Monkey Says: I very much see the logic in predicting they select Tyler Beede. I have a hard time believing that the Angels will pass on taking a quality college starting pitcher given the dearth of pitching in their system. Still, there has just been too many rumors linking them to Schwarber. We will see what happens as it is obviously possible that Schwarber may not even be on the board at #15.

The Story: Notes on Cam Bedrosian’s path to the majors.
The Monkey Says: MWAH only had him at #10, which goes to show how quickly his profile has risen. Sickels rightly points out that Bedrosian was a mess after his TJ surgery. I definitely thought he was going to be a bust, but credit to our own Scotty Allen for talking me into maintaining some faith.

The Story: The Angels-Rangers game on June 22nd has been selected for ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.
The Monkey Says: The game will now start at 5 PM in Anaheim. It will be interesting to see if this remains an intriguing match-up as both the Angels and Rangers are headed in the wrong direction right now.

The Story: Mike Trout vs. Bryce Harper, revisited.
The Monkey Says: Stop talking about Trout not being able to stay healthy! It gives me nightmares and I refuse to acknowledge it as a possibility.
