The June 12th, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Pujols discusses his slump, Angels sign 14 draft picks and much more…
The Story: Albert Pujols opens up about his slump.
The Monkey Says: He doesn’t actually say what he thinks the problem is but there are hints that maybe he is not 100% healthy. Of course, I looked at the situation yesterday and it appears to be simply that Pujols has been the victim of being too pull happy and facing the infield shift too often. Maybe there is more going on that he isn’t letting onto, but it sure seems like he should be able to pull out of this.
The Story: The Angels have signed 14 of their 40 draft picks so far.
The Monkey Says: None of their top three have signed, but Jewell was signed for about $76,000 under slot.
The Story: The Angels and A’s react to the amazing throw from Yoenis Cespedes on Tuesday night.
The Monkey Says: It was quite literally perfect.
The Story: The re-painting of the yellow line atop the right field wall was just a coincidence.
The Monkey Says: The Angels would have us believe it just happened to be on the to-do list for the facilities crew that day. Good thing, because otherwise it looked like Scioscia was still acting like a petulant child over a call that he didn’t like.
The Story: More evidence of Mike Trout’s struggles up in the zone.
The Monkey Says: People, we get it already. Heat maps are cool and everything, but the horse is dead.
