The June 16th, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Pujols not moved down in the order, Salas to the DL, De La Rosa recalled and much more…

The Story: Albert Pujols is not going to be moved down in the lineup due to his recent slump.
The Monkey Says: Which looks smart because he broke out of his slump in a big way in Atlanta. Also, after digging into the numbers last week, it appears he is actually still hitting the ball well, but getting hurt badly by the shift. He was bound to come around, so it is good he wasn’t buried down in the order when it happened.

The Story: Fernando Salas was placed on the DL with shoulder issues with Dane De La Rosa recalled to take his place.
The Monkey Says: It doesn’t sound serious for Salas, so that is good news. De La Rosa being called up should’ve been good news, but he wasn’t pitching well in Salt Lake. It was easy to see why when he pitched on Sunday with his fastball sitting at 90 MPH.

The Story: Erick Aybar left last night’s game with a hip problem.
The Monkey Says: It is not yet known how serious the injury is. If he is day-to-day, John McDonald will start in his place. If he hits the DL, Grant Green will likely get a shot at taking over, at least part-time since he is a major question defensively.

The Story: Tyler Skaggs is on track to come off the DL next weekend.
The Monkey Says: So long as Hector Santiago doesn’t defecate all over the mound in his next start, he will likely get to stick around with Matt Shoemaker getting demoted to make room for Skaggs.

The Story: Ernesto Frieri received a vote of confidence from Mike Scioscia after his meltdown on Saturday.
The Monkey Says: As well he should’ve because it was Scioscia’s fault that Frieri’s arm was so tired after recently pitching on four straight days.

The Story: Which teams have the biggest bandwagon fans?
The Monkey Says: The Angels rank 7th highest, but this is a study that misspelled San Francisco and rated the Dodgers towards the bottom of the bandwagon list, so make of it what you will.

The Story: Recapping the Angels 2014 draft class.
The Monkey Says: You might want to set aside a good hour to digest this one as it coves almost every single pick.
