While the rest of the world was busy watching the insanity that is the Royals-Athletics Wild Card game, Angels announcer Victor Rojas and former Angels albatross Vernon Wells got into a Twitter beef. It all started with a throwaway comment about Jayson Nix:
Kind of explains Nix’ 2014 transactions…
— Victor Rojas (@VictorRojas) October 1, 2014
And then Vernon Wells apparently was actually not too blessed to be stressed for one night:
@VictorRojas29 Doucher comment
— Vernon Wells (@VernonWells10) October 1, 2014
Victor wasn’t having any of it though:
@VernonWells10 save it
— Victor Rojas (@VictorRojas) October 1, 2014
That’s when things got Freudian for Vernon:
@VictorRojas29 You know I'm right. You commentate and think it's cool to bury people. Speaks to your character.
— Vernon Wells (@VernonWells10) October 1, 2014
Vernon Wells is mad at a commentator burying people? Gosh, I can’t imagine why that is. Rojas, sensing that there were deeper issues at play, shut the conversation down:
@VernonWells10 No, can’t say that’s the case considering it was tongue in cheek but whatever helps us sleep at night. Be well.
— Victor Rojas (@VictorRojas) October 1, 2014
But don’t worry, kids. Vernon decided to try and kiss and make up:
I'm sorry @VictorRojas29 I was hoping Nix came through and then I saw that. Shouldn't have commented. My bad
— Vernon Wells (@VernonWells10) October 1, 2014
Victor has yet to acknowledge the apology, but Vernon hasn’t since faded back into oblivion.
