The November 24th, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Angels acquire Dan Robertson, among teams that need Jon Lester the most and much more…

The Story: The Angels acquired outfielder Dan Robertson from the Rangers for a player to be named later or cash.
The Monkey Says: They waived Alfredo Marte to make room for him on the roster. Robertson isn’t much of a prospect given that he’s 29, but he is a good fielder and baserunner, so he provides specialized depth.

The Story: The Angels are on of the teams that needs Jon Lester the most.
The Monkey Says: They need him the sixth-most, apparently. How the Tigers and their cadre of aces need Lester more is beyond me, but these ranking articles are fairly pointless anyway.

The Story: The Twins won the bidding for Korean hurler Hyeon-jong Yang.
The Monkey Says: The Angels supposedly had some interest in him, but it is unknown if they even submitted a bid.

The Story: Buster Olney ranked Erick Aybar the seventh-best shortstop in the majors.
The Monkey Says: Hrmmm. I’m not sold Brandon Crawford is better, but he has a bunch of World Series rings and Aybar doesn’t so I’m not going to fight it too hard.

The Story: Ranking the best hitter-pitcher combos in baseball.
The Monkey Says: ‘Tis the season to rank anything and everything, apparently. I’m pretty sure they could’ve paired Trout with Joe Blanton and they still would’ve topped this list.

The Story: Brennan Boesch has joined the Reds on a minor league contract.
The Monkey Says: Try not to let this news ruin your Thanksgiving. I know it won’t be easy, but we’ll have to find a way to move on.
