The January 12th, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Richards to be ready in April, the history of adjustments to Mike Trout and much more…
The Story: Garrett Richards is expected to be ready “at some point” in April.
The Monkey Says: As such, they aren’t interested in really adding any rotation help, though I wouldn’t be shocked if they tried to find a veteran to add on a minor league deal.
The Story: The history of adjustments to Mike Trout.
The Monkey Says: Now it is up to Trout to make more adjustments, which I suspect he will. He and Don Baylor spoke about it a few times to the media late in the season, so I have to think it will be a focal point of his offseason and spring training.
The Story: Depth charts are at the heart of the Angels’ strategy.
The Monkey Says: Jerry Dipoto: Excel nerd. I want to see this spreadsheet so badly. I partly just want to see what he has planned and how he has it constructed. In fact, I’m going to take a crack at a version myself this week to add to the depth chart page. However, I also want to see what kind of Excel skills Dipoto has. Is he good with pivot tables? Does he use macros? Has he got a bunch of conditional formatting? These are things I need to know.
The Story: The Angels still have no representatives in the Hall of Fame.
The Monkey Says: Not that it was expected to change this year. Sorry, but it is going to be a long while before they get anyone in. I have to think that if Vlad Guerrero makes it, he’ll go in as an Expo, barring some “incentive” being provided to the Hall of Fame by Arte Moreno.
The Story: The best middle relievers of all time.
The Monkey Says: Rest easy, Scot Shields made it. Mark Eichhorn actually led the list, so the Halos are well representative.
The Story: Five MLB teams that need uniform makeovers.
The Monkey Says: In case you haven’t read my rant about the Angels wearing the color red in a little while.
