The February 5th, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Hamilton undergoes successful surgery, Angels complete Beckham trade and much more…
The Story: Josh Hamilton had successful surgery to repair the AC joint in his shoulder.
The Monkey Says: Apparently this is similar surgery to what Jayson Werth had, so he’s a few weeks ahead of Hamilton. He’ll be a good guy to monitor to see where Hamilton should be and when. Josh will probably fall behind anyway, but at least we will now have a frame of reference.
The Story: The Angels sent pitcher Yency Almonte to the White Sox to complete the Gordon Beckham trade.
The Monkey Says: Almonte isn’t much of a prospect, but he has a live arm, so he’s not a total throwaway which is probably more than the Halos should’ve paid for a few weeks of Gordon Beckham.
The Story: Who is better: Angels or Dodgers?
The Monkey Says: Who thinks it matters? The teams play each other just four times and have never met in the postseason.
The Story: Mike Trout is Javy Lopez’s favorite player.
The Monkey Says: A one sentence quote and a 32-second video. And they say longform journalism is dead.
The Story: Ranking all of the MLB uniforms.
The Monkey Says: The Halos are the middle of the pack, which makes sense. However, I actually like the red alternates. I dislike red being their primary color, but they at least make it work.
