The May 6th, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Joyce felt pressure to replace Hamilton, wondering if Jered Weaver done and much more…

The Story: Matt Joyce felt the pressure to replace Josh Hamilton?
The Monkey Says: What pressure? Joyce hit for a low average, no power and struck out a lot. If he’d just thrown around a few Jesus references, I wouldn’t even have noticed that Josh was missing.

The Story: Is Jered Weaver done?
The Monkey Says: It took me a good three hours to work up the courage to read this article. It doesn’t come to any real conclusions, but it is damning enough that an article wondering if Weaver is done actually exists. He may not be done, but it certainly seems as if the end is drawing nigh.

The Story: The Angels are one of five contenders facing serious questions.
The Monkey Says: Their question is about their flagging offense, just in case you mistakenly thought Weaver’s demise was the only thing worth worrying about.

The Story: The Angels are not interested in catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
The Monkey Says: Salty had a few good years but he looks washed up now. He’s a horrid defender and his bat has never lived up to its potential. The Angels are much better off hoping Iannetta comes around or Carlos Perez proves himself worthy.

The Story: Garrett Richards has a deeper appreciation for baseball after his rehabilitation from his knee injury.
The Monkey Says: Considering how catastrophic the injury appeared to be at the time, I’d say Richards did an admirable job of coping.

The Story: Mike Trout is too good.
The Monkey Says: OK, this is just an early seasons trend piece and the trend is that Trout is too good. However, suggesting that is a trend suggests that it will come to an in shortly. To that, I strenuously object.

The Story: Pitching prospect Hunter Green is out indefinitely with a stress fracture in his elbow.
The Monkey Says: He was on the verge of reporting to the Single-A Burlington Bees. This is why we can’t have nice things.

The Story: A look at the favorite fringe prospect for each team.
The Monkey Says: Alex Yarbrough is the pick for the Halos which is kind of sad because he is also a consensus top 10 prospect in the Angels farm system.
