The May 22nd, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Pujols hopes to return Friday, Mike Trout vs. Bryce Harper and much more…

The Story: Albert Pujols is hoping to return to the lineup today.
The Monkey Says: His hand is still swollen and he has trouble gripping the bat, so that’s seems a bit ambitious unless he has magical healing powers.

The Story: Bryce Harper vs. Mike Trout vs. Bryce Harper.
The Monkey Says: This is more of a Harper-focused post, but the fact that Trout is being compared to Harper twice in the same title nearly made me lose my mind.

The Story: Mike Trout’s more upright approach has led to more success on high pitches.
The Monkey Says: “WE SURRENDER!” said all the pitchers in MLB.

The Story: The trade market not close to materializing.
The Monkey Says: It isn’t even June yet, did anyone think it would “materialize” by now? The thing is the whole market doesn’t need to materialize, just parts of it. That’s what the Angels need if they want to move early. However, that usually means offering to overpay in order to convince other GMs to make a deal now instead of waiting for the rest of the market to take shape.

The Story: The 20 players most likely to be traded and their possible destinations.
The Monkey Says: This is Jim Bowden so almost every pitcher will end up in Houston and every hitter in Anaheim. I actually like the idea of Carlos Santana for the Halos and the Wilin Rosario deal would be a worthwhile gamble as well.

The Story: A look at each AL West team’s draft targets.
The Monkey Says: I like this better than mock drafts because mock drafts just have so many variables that make them almost worthless when you have the last pick in the first round. Personally, I’d love to see the Halos target some power bats in this draft as that is where their system is the thinnest. Going after high impact arms is always popular idea as well, but the Angels really need to be tactical with their drafts if they hope to compete and rebuild the farm at the same time.

The Story: A look at how offense is created.
The Monkey Says: Wait, you can create offense? Judging by the way the Angels are hitting this year, I thought the goal was offensive entropy.
