Boxscore Breakdown #57: Sound the alarm? – Yankees 6, Angels 2

picture 28

Is it time to sound the panic alarms? The Angels just got swept in embarrassing fashion and are in the midst of a five-game losing streak. The offense still isn’t producing. The rotation is starting to fall apart. Everything that had kept them afloat early in the season is starting to disintegrate. Or maybe it just seems that way because everything tends to look like that during a losing streak. Sometimes though it seems that way because that is what the actual reality is.

I’m also convinced that the Kole Calhoun at clean-up hitter experiment needs to end. The logic behind it was sound, but it really looks to be messing up his approach. C.J. Cron struggled again, but he’ll probably keep getting PAs that he doesn’t deserve.

This isn’t a good Yankees lineup, but somehow they banged the Angels around in every single game.

Wilson was looking pretty sharp except for that, wait for it…. ONE BIG INNING! Meanwhile CC Sabathia had a solid outing, but I’m not exactly sure there was a high degree of difficulty.

Bullpen Battle

It feels weird to give this to Wilson in a game where he didn’t issue a single walk, yet here we are.
